Further Update – thanks for everybodies comments below, as of about lunchtime today the hosting provider resolved the problems with the RAID setup and the read only filesystem, and IMOC is back up and running.
Yes – it’s down at the moment, and no, its not totally scheduled downtime. We were waiting for the new hosting provider to put in the rest of the memory into the new server, which it looks like they have now done – but something has gone terribly awry with it when it came back up.. We’re working on it at the moment.
Added – Ok, looks as if part of the filesystem only remounted read-only when the machine came back up, and a subsequent attempted reboot has not made things any better. We will be issuing a support request to the hosting provider, and hopefully they can fix whatever has gone wrong with the machine.
More Added – It looks like the machine will be down until at least tomorrow morning..
Updated News – The latest from the hosting company is that when they shut the machine down to install the memory, they didn’t shut it down cleanly, and it’s borked the RAID’ed disks, so they’ve got into a kind of panic mode for safety. They are working on it now.
