From the desk of Speedy..

Morning / Afternoon / Evening, IMOC person. It would seem that some clowns/pond scum decided it would be fun to pick on us again, and have scrawled their nonsense over the site, and probably into your inbox..

This will cause some downtime while I clear the mess up, and find out what exploit in phpBB was used for them to do this. If you are a moderator / committee person, I will be resetting all of your passwords, and you will be informed about them in due course. I will be at work for today, and unavoidably out until later this evening. When I’m back, I’ll get my web-broom out and start clearing up the mess.

You are of course welcome to post your comments below, please be advised that comments on Luckymonkey are moderated before they go live.

(Added - If you have got an email from the IMOC site, please just delete it, and don’t reply to it. Clearly, we are aware of what has happened, and flooding the admin team with a bazillion emails will not help us get it sorted any faster.

Further Update - thanks for everybodies comments below, as of about lunchtime today the hosting provider resolved the problems with the RAID setup and the read only filesystem, and IMOC is back up and running.

Yes - it’s down at the moment, and no, its not totally scheduled downtime. We were waiting for the new hosting provider to put in the rest of the memory into the new server, which it looks like they have now done - but something has gone terribly awry with it when it came back up.. We’re working on it at the moment.

Added - Ok, looks as if part of the filesystem only remounted read-only when the machine came back up, and a subsequent attempted reboot has not made things any better. We will be issuing a support request to the hosting provider, and hopefully they can fix whatever has gone wrong with the machine.

More Added - It looks like the machine will be down until at least tomorrow morning..

Updated News - The latest from the hosting company is that when they shut the machine down to install the memory, they didn’t shut it down cleanly, and it’s borked the RAID’ed disks, so they’ve got into a kind of panic mode for safety. They are working on it now.

This was kind of our hen and stag weekend do, before the wedding. Since I failed to complete the rebuild on the supernail in time, we had to take out the supercharger instead.
