I was down in Southampton today, so I thought I’d go along to the new Apple store (in West Quay), to see if I could pick up one of the new keyboards, as released last Tuesday (along with the new iMac, MiniMac speed bump and a bunch of other stuff). Reason being that I used to really like my MB keyboard, and I don’t like the MBP keyboard quite as much.

I tried one out which was attached to a new iMac (a very nice looking machine) - liked it, so I asked a sales guy where they were. “we’re sold out, sold right out of them quickly” he said. “Don’t know when we’re going to get more either”.

I have to say that I was more than a little surprised that out of all of the product line refreshes, the keyboard was the most sucessful - well, in Southampton anyway, unless they were only supplied 3 or something..

So, my quest continues. I have to go pick up my MBP (now 7 days into a 5 day repair), so when I do, I’ll see if the Apple store has one then..
