750 Formula website update

Hi all,

Sorry about this. It looks like all of the post data is still in the database, so nothing has been lost - but - the site seems to have lost it’s marbles about how they are all connected together. I’ll be replacing the forum software with something else which should be more reliable.

I’m downloading all of the files at the moment so nothing gets lost in the move. See you all on the other side.

Update :
My Mac has had to go back to the store to get it’s screen replaced after a thunderbug crawled in there and died behind the glass. The good news (for me) is that it’ll be done under warranty. The bad news is that the 750 stuff is all on that machine, and so I can’t do anything while I don’t have it.
The Apple store reckon it’ll be done in 5 days or so.

Alex

The sunday after I had to take the site offline, my laptop went into repair (5th of August). 5 day repair was quoted at the time. Now (23rd) they have decided that they just can’t get hold of a replacement screen, so will be doing something else instead. It looks like its going to be at least another week until I get it, and all of my data back again.

Sorry about that, I’m just as frustrated as everybody else (and I’ve only just been able to start working through the massive backlog of email which has accumulated)

Bah - silly apple! I got a letter yesterday which I assume every other driver did too, saying that the results from Silverstone are provisional pending a hearing at Mallory. If any other drivers are reading this (particularly those who were around on Sunday as apparently there was an announcement then) - what’s going on?

FWIW - Mr Bove told me that it was because of an ‘racing incident’, so the results are under protest at the moment.

I’m intrigued as to how that’ll pan out. Have you had any luck with apple yet?

In short - yes, I have. I am expecting a replacement laptop to be available for collection at the end of this week (!). However, I won’t be able to pick it up until next week.

I’m starting to think that the 10x factor you’re supposed to allow for buildings and the like should also apply to computer servicing! Hopefully all will be well before Snett as I need to get some advice on a few bits (like replacing hubs - after the overtightening at Silverstone I’d rather like to get new ones to be on the safe side)

Hows it going with the web site??
I ask as we have very recently completed our body panels & am keen to get some pics on the web site for any constructive comments…
… I am also very keen to get some information that was given on a previous post.

The site is a great tool for people like me who dont have much engineering knowledge and are trying to build a car from scratch!

I bet you weren’t execting this sort of demand when u started this web site! :)

As above still, hope to be able to pick up the replacement laptop with the site on it early next week, then my first priority will be in getting the site running again.

    Where is everybody??????

Southampton :-) Sorry, it’s Friday afternoon, I’m still working on a couple of webites and I’m feeling sarcastic! 2 weeks to Snett and we’re looking more ready than usual. Still need to try to sort out wets, does anyone know if George Polley will be there?

Any news on the site? I need info to complete my build so that I can get out there next season.

The bad news is that as per here :
    http://www.luckymonkey.co.uk/mac/5-days-and-5-weeks/43

They have yet again pushed back the date. The good news is that on Saturday I started putting a new site together with an old machine which used to sit under my telly. Watch this space.

Entry list is out for Snetterton - I’m missing but will be there! Total of 21 drivers including me, which isn’t bad going I reckon.

I’ll be visiting just to say Hi to everyone…. 2 races on the Sunday - is that right??

  18. Andrew September 20, 2007 5:32 pm

Yup, scrutineering is 9:15, practice/qually is 10:15, race 1 is 14:25 and race 2 is 16:55. I’ll be the one in or around the apparently now quite shiny 28 car!

  19. Will & Will Jnr September 24, 2007 6:39 pm

We will be there too but have been missed off the entry list - Will jnr will be driving, I will be panicking. C’est la vie!

We get the garages……can this be true?

I think it can - we had them at Brands and Silverstone so maybe it’s the start of a trend?
